Norway’s 2027 state budget will be presented on 7 October 2026 at 10.00. As of 4 October, this is an upcoming presentation of the government’s proposal. New taxes, benefit amounts and other measures are not adopted simply because they appear in a budget proposal.
What happens on 7 October?
The government presents its proposed state revenue and expenditure for 2027. The documents become available when the finance minister presents the budget in Stortinget, Norway’s parliament.
Finansdepartementet, the Ministry of Finance, which coordinates the government’s budget work, gives this schedule for 7 October 2026, in Norwegian local time:
- 08.00: selected economic headline figures are published
- 10.00: the budget proposal and documents become available
- 13.00: the finance minister holds a press conference.

Have new taxes and support schemes been adopted?
No. The government proposes, while Stortinget considers and adopts the state budget.

What should you follow as a resident?

What happens before 1 January 2027?
Stortinget considers the proposal from October to December. The final state budget is adopted in December and applies from 1 January 2027.
