65 percent are satisfied with digital health services, according to a new survey from Helsedirektoratet. The report was published on 30 October 2026. The figures describe residents’ experiences and attitudes; they do not tell you which digital services your doctor offers.

What does the new survey show?

Helse- og omsorgsdepartementet presented the results on 31 October. In the survey, 64 percent report having had digital contact with health services in the past twelve months. 65 percent are satisfied with digital health services.

These are two different questions. Use describes contact with the services. Satisfaction describes how people rate them. Helsedirektoratet is the public health authority behind the report.

The satisfaction question was asked of all respondents, including those who had not used such services. The result therefore does not mean everyone else is dissatisfied. The report distinguishes between dissatisfaction, neutral responses, uncertainty and non-use, among other categories. You can read the details in the chapter on satisfaction.

Do the figures cover all of 2026?

No. Responses were collected from 19 May to 2 June 2026. When participants answered about use in the past twelve months, they looked back from the time they responded. This is not a measurement of the whole calendar year 2026.

The analysis covers 2,806 respondents. This year’s survey uses a random sample from Folkeregisteret, whereas previous surveys used Gallup’s online panel. Data collection also moved from late summer to spring.

The methodology chapter describes the changes. They matter when comparing years: a changed result may also reflect who responds and how the survey is carried out. The figures alone do not show that a particular service or policy decision has improved provision.

What do the results mean for you as a patient?

The survey provides an overall picture. It does not determine whether you can have a digital consultation, which system your doctor’s office uses or whether a particular enquiry can be handled digitally.

Ask your own doctor’s office which contact methods it offers and which channel suits your enquiry. If you need an overview of who does what, SamfunnPrep has a guide to the healthcare system in Norway.

Do not use a satisfaction figure as an assessment of your own health. Questions about illness, symptoms or treatment must be discussed with the health professionals helping you.

Where can you get help with Helsenorge?

Helsenorge is the public portal for health information and digital health services. If you need help finding your way around or using self-service features, you can contact Veiledning Helsenorge.

As of 2 November 2026, the phone number is 23 32 70 00, open weekdays from 08:00 to 15:30. The guidance service can help you use the portal. It cannot log in on your behalf or see the contents of your letters.

Distinguish between two needs before making contact:

  • Help with the website: Explain which feature you are trying to use and where you are stuck.
  • Questions about your health: Contact the professional treating you; portal guidance does not replace that contact.
