Editorial principles
We follow the Norwegian press’s Vær Varsom code, with a particular focus on fact-checking, source transparency, and fast corrections.
Sources and verification
Every news article is built on primary sources — official documents and decisions from HK-dir, UDI, the Norwegian Tax Administration, and other public agencies. We cite explicitly and link straight to the source. When sources disagree, we explain why we chose one interpretation over another.
Fact-checking
Claims in news articles are reviewed by an editor who didn’t write the piece. Articles in the health, residence, economy, and citizenship categories (YMYL) go through a second round of fact-checking.
Use of AI
We use AI tools for drafts and translation, but every published article is reviewed and signed off by a human editor. We never publish AI-generated content without expert verification.
Corrections
We correct mistakes as quickly as we find them. Substantive changes are logged openly on the /rettelser page. Minor language fixes are not logged.
Advertising and independence
The newsroom is independent of advertisers. Sponsored content is clearly labelled and never published in news categories.
