Statsborgerprøven (the Norwegian citizenship test) checks knowledge of Norwegian society. It is available in Norwegian Bokmål or Nynorsk and shares a curriculum with the social studies test, Samfunnskunnskapsprøven.
There are 36 tasks and a maximum of 60 minutes. Four tasks are unscored. You need at least 24 correct answers among the 32 scored tasks to pass. See HK-dir’s description of the tests.
A passed social studies test in Norwegian can also meet the social studies test requirement for citizenship. The spoken Norwegian requirement is separate. Check UDI’s test requirements and exemptions for your situation.
