Here are **50 practice questions with short answers and explanations** for the social studies test. The questions cover the test format and key parts of the official learning material: working life and education, family and health, and Norway in the past and present.

These are original practice questions from SamfunnPrep, not real or copied exam questions. HK-dir states that the official sample test is similar to the real test, but does not contain the same questions. The facts below were checked against official sources **as of 12 September 2026**. Rules can change, so use the links and source list when you need a decision in your own case.

## How to use the questions

You can cover the answer line with your hand. Choose one option, read the explanation and note the topics where you make mistakes. Understanding why an answer is correct is better than memorising the letter.

On the real test, you receive 38 questions. Four are trial questions that do not count, and you are not told which ones they are. At least 26 of the 34 scored answers must be correct. Read the complete [guide to the format and pass mark](https://samfunnprep.no/en/articles/samfunnskunnskapsproven-format) before the test day.

Count your correct answers in each part. If you know the facts about the test but make mistakes in working life or history, your next session should focus on the weaker topic. Read the official learning material again and explain the answer in your own words.

At SamfunnPrep, you can practise with more varied questions and explanations. The service is a supplement to official learning material and does not guarantee that you will pass. [Start a free session](https://samfunnprep.no/register) when you are ready.
